How we came to be Biker B's Bathworks

In 1997, my husband Gene decided that a fun weekend project would be to learn to make soap. He bought a book, researched for supplies and after a month of studying, he said we were ready. He was the soapmaker and I was his assistant. After making just one batch of soap, we were hooked! A nice indoor hobby for us to do when the weather wasn't nice enough to ride our Harleys. To our delight, the soap was very popular with friends and family, and within a few months we found ourselves at a craft show. And the people bought the soap! We were amazed. We found ourselves quickly addicted to making soap and creating new blends of fragrances.

We started selling at farmer's markets and found that there really was an appreciation for handcrafted soaps. Soon, we had people asking for other products and since Gene had made candles in the past, he got busy in the candle department. I found that there were many other bath and body products that used many of the same ingredients as the soap, and soon we had expanded the product line to include lip balm and bath fizzies.

This "hobby" quickly became much more business and less fun for Gene, so after a few years he turned the soap pot over to me. I'm still having fun with it after all these years. He is still very supportive and helpful, whether I need his help when creating a new blend or need his input on a new product, he is always there to help. He is and always will be the original "biker b" of Biker B's Bathworks. Our products can be seen at our website, www.bikerbsoap.com

I don't ride my Harley as much as I would like to, but since I added a side car to it a few years ago, I have been known to deliver soap to customers on the bike. I have tried to make it a fun and unique bike by adding some "bath" accessories to it.
